Call for Action on Coleshill Car Park Eyesore

Public Letter to Carmarthenshire County Council Regarding the Coleshill Car Park Wall

Dear Carmarthenshire County Council,

We, the undersigned residents of Llanelli, are writing to express our deep concerns regarding the long-standing neglect of the demolished wall on the south side of the Coleshill Car Park. For several years, this site has been left in a state of disrepair, with rubble from the wall surrounded by heras fencing. During this time, it has become a dumping ground for plastic bottles, crisp packets, and other litter, creating an eyesore in the heart of our community.

More recently, there have been reports of vermin nesting in the rubble, posing a potential public health risk. This state of neglect is unacceptable and has been allowed to persist for far too long. The condition of this site not only detracts from the appearance of our town but also raises concerns for the safety and well-being of local residents.

If a similar issue were to arise in Carmarthen or other towns in the county, we believe it would not be left unresolved for such an extended period. Llanelli deserves the same level of attention and care that other areas of Carmarthenshire receive.

We urge the Council to take immediate action to clear the rubble, remove the fencing, and restore the area to an appropriate standard. Our community has waited long enough for this problem to be addressed, and we expect the Council to fulfil its responsibility in maintaining our public spaces.

By signing this letter, we call on Carmarthenshire County Council to prioritise this issue and ensure that the Coleshill Car Park area is no longer left in its current state.
